Atahan Çiftçi is a Rotterdam-based musician from Istanbul. His work brings the oud into a spacious dialogue with jazz, contemporary music and the rhythms carried across the Silk Road.

Founded in 2020, Udgang protects the nature of Turkish music while opening it to new timbres and grooves. Oud, double bass and drums move as one voice: intimate, direct and always in motion.

A life in two tempos.
Atahan began with piano, discovered the oud at twelve and later studied bass guitar and jazz harmony. After five years playing bass with Gagarin, he returned to the oud and developed the motifs that became Udgang. He now lives in Rotterdam and continues to perform in Türkiye and across Europe.
